Apple Crumble
Apple crumble is a dessert made of baked apples topped with a crisp crust.
Many different kinds of fruit can substituted for apples, such as peaches, berries, pears, rhubarb, etc.
Apple crumble has become an American and British tradition especially during autumn when apples are plentiful.
INGREDIENTS
Filling
2 eating apples, cooked, cored and thinly sliced
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp ground nutmeg
Crumble
25g unsalted butter
30g plain flour
25g brown sugar
a pinch of ground cinnamon
a sprinkle of salt
icing sugar, to garnish
METHOD

METHOD
- Fill a dish with the finely slice apples, cinnamon and nutmeg.
- Make a crumble by combining the flour, brown sugar, cinnamon and a small pinch of salt. Mix the softened butter to form a crumb.
- Sprinkle the crumble on top on the apple.
- Bake at 190'c for approximately 45 minutes until the crumble is browned and the fruit bubbling.
- Leave to cool slightly and dust with icing sugar.
