Tiramisu

Tiramisu is an Italian dessert made of ladyfingers or savoiardi biscuits dipped into coffee, layered with whipped mixture of egg yolks and mascarpone cheese, and flavoured with Marsala wine and cocoa.


INGREDIENTS

Cream
125g mascarpone cheese
250g whipping cream
50g egg yolks
1/2 vanilla pod
60g sugar

Sponge base
1 tbsp Marsala wine
ladyfinger/savoiardi biscuits
espresso coffee
cocoa powder, to decorate


METHOD

  1. In a bowl mix together the coffee and Marsala wine.
  2. Soak the biscuits into the coffee for a couple of seconds and place in a dish forming two or three layers.
  3. Prepare the mascarpone filling by mixing together the mascarpone cheese, cream, egg yolks, vanilla pods and sugar.
  4. With a spoon pour the cream onto the biscuits and decorate with cocoa powder.
  5. Place in the fridge for at least an hour before serving.
